Eusebio Francisco Kino reports : Mission Nuestra Señora de los Dolores, 1698-1703.

Two reports from the Jesuit missionary, dated May 3-November 4, 1698, and February 5, 1703. The first describes Apache hostilities and aid rendered against them by the Pima-Sobaipuri Indians, and stresses the need for governmental assistance in the conversion and protection of these allies. The second, addressed to the viceroy, reports on the history of existing missions and on plans for future missions in Pimería Alta and Alta California.
